Translation for Publishers
From Italian into English

For aspiring translators whose mother tongue is English and who have a good knowledge of Italian. The course consists of translation workshops, sessions on editing and an introduction to managing your own business. The course will be run by professional mother-tongue translators.

The workshop is organised in collaboration with EUROPASS, vocational training centre recognized by Regione Toscana

Course programme

The translator’s profession

The translator and the market: contracts, legislative norms, dealing with publishers, guidelines for self-employment. This introductory lesson will be given in Italian, with the participation of those enrolled in courses of translation into Italian.

The translator at work

Practical translation workshops focusing on a range of text types (journalism, art criticism, press releases, literary texts, etc.). The sessions will be led by a professional mother-tongue translator.

Editing workshops

Editing translations, with practical exercises.
